New to Ohioans is the Crisis Text Line, a free, confidential service available 24/7 via text on mobile devices. Throughout Ohio, individuals can text the keyword "4hope" to 741741 to be connected to a crisis counselor.
Our Board is partnering with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to promote the 24/7 Crisis Text Line in Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties. Any person may need help in coping with a stressful situation. Anyone should feel free to text "4hope" to 741741 for help. It serves all ages. Your message is confidential, anonymous and secure. Data usage while texting Crisis Text Line is free and the number will not appear on a phone bill with the mobile service carrier.
Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Director Tracy Plouck said Crisis Text Line is not a replacement for counseling, but when one feels completely overwhelmed, lost and alone, it's a point of connection and a way to get to a more stable frame of mind.
We encourage anyone to share the word about this new resource in our communities. School personnel, faith-based organization, social workers, treatment providers and media outlets are especially encouraged to promote access to the Crisis Text Line.
